Eligibility

All permanent registered Para Transpo customers are eligible to participate in the Taxi Coupon Program.

About Coupons / Cost

• The cost is $24 for a coupon book worth $40 in taxi fares.
• Each book has a selection of $1, $2, and $5 coupons.

An eligible customer can buy up to four coupon books each month.

Coupons are not refundable and lost or stolen coupons will not be reimbursed. Coupons are for the sole use of the Para Transpo customer who buys them. They cannot be resold or given to anyone else. Anyone who abuses this policy will be ineligible to participate in the program.

For customers with a visual impairment, the coupons are identified with hole punches for the different values.

You can order by phone or mail, but please allow two weeks for delivery.

Please send a cheque or money order (no cash), payable to the City of Ottawa, in the amount of $24 a book, along with your name, mailing address and Para Transpo registration number to:

Book your Taxi Trip

Call any participating Ottawa taxi company directly to book your trip and tell them that you are using the Taxi Coupon Program.

If you use a mobility device or require assistance, advise the taxi dispatcher when you book your trip.


When paying your taxi fare, you must show your Para Transpo identification card, which you will receive with your coupons. You must also show an additional piece of government-issued photo ID.

Coupons will be accepted at their face value. The taxi driver will not provide change from coupons, so please ensure you have extra cash to pay any balance if the fare is not an even amount.

Coupons cannot be used for tips. Friends or family may travel with you, up to the capacity of the vehicle, at no extra charge.
