Lansdowne Park is not simply a popular centrally located venue for local events and activities - it is also a historical landmark as it has served as a show-g
round and a site for exhibitions since 1868! The Aberdeen Pavilion, often referred to as the Cattle Castle, is a stunning visual reminder of Lansdowne’s history as it remains as elegant and majestic a building as when it was built 110 years ago.
Lansdowne is also home to the Ottawa 67’s hockey team, as well as the annual SuperEX, a fair that sprawls across the entire park and draws hundreds of thousands of visitors over its 10-15 day run. As well, every June Lansdowne hosts one of Ottawa’s largest Farmer’s Markets (check the website for specific dates) that draws farmers and their product from farms all around the Ottawa region. The park is also a popular venue for high profile bands and comedians, and its central location - nestled between the Rideau Canal and one of Ottawa’s oldest neighbourhoods, the Glebe - makes it an ideal destination at all times of the year.
