New spring service starting April 24

The service changes include seasonal changes, schedule adjustments, and transit route improvements. Several routes will also be modified as light-rail construction pushes on through the central Transitway corridor.

Routing improvements

Neighbourhood Routes affected Changes
Kanata 182 Improved service to businesses on Terry Fox. Route 182 trips to/from Richcraft Recreation Complex extended beyond Herzberg  to connect with Legget Drive via Terry Fox.
  • Route 182 is removed from some sections of Legget, including the following stops:
    • #6396 (Legget/Schneider)
    • #0857 (309 Legget)
    • #7990 (350 Legget)
    • #6398 (Legget/Herzberg)
    • #7991 (Legget/Solandt)

Orléans 20, 21, 22, 24, 27, 30, 31, 34, 35, 37, 38, 221, 231, 232 Better reliability and on-time performance
  • Afternoon schedule adjustments for eastbound express Routes 20, 21, 22, 24, 27, 30, 31, 34, 35, 37, 38, 221, 231, and 232
38 Improved service along Jeanne d’Arc North
  • Two trips in each direction are extended to Trim Road at Highway 174
West Hunt Club 116 New service to the Sikh Temple on Gurdwara
  • Route 116B trips on Sundays between 10 am and 2 pm is extended via Laser Street and Gurdwara Road to serve the temple

Ottawa Southeast 9 Improved connections between Hurdman and De la Salle high school
  • 9X De la Salle: One special school trip to De la Salle on Route 9 is added  in the morning (leaving Hurdman Station at 8:23 am).
  • 9 Hurdman: One trip returning to Hurdman is added in the afternoon (leaving De la Salle at 3:35 pm)

Seasonal schedule changes

Starting April 24, the schedules on many routes will be adjusted to reflect lower ridership experienced in the spring. New timetables will be available mid-March.

  • Some supplementary trips on the Route 129 run until the end of exams on Wednesday, April 27

  • One fewer trip from Colonel By on Route 124 is removed in the afternoon

  • One trip on Route 602 is cancelled and replaced by a new Route 9 trip
Earl of March 168
  • One fewer special school trip on Route 168 in the afternoon
Hillcrest 114
  • One fewer trip to Hillcrest on Route 114 in the morning
Immaculata 613
  • One fewer trip from Immaculata in the afternoon
Gloucester 124
  • One fewer trip from Gloucester on Route 124 is removed in the afternoon
Omer-Deslauriers 691
  • One fewer trip to Omer-Deslauriers on Route 691 in the morning
  • One fewer special trip from Omer-Deslauriers in the afternoon

Route Changes
O-Train Trillium Line
  • Frequency of service on the Trillium Line is reduced in the evening after 9 pm and between 10 am and 6 pm on Sundays to match the reduced seasonal ridership levels.
  • Frequency between Carleton University and Hurdman Station is reduced.
  • Frequency east of Hurdman Station does not change.

Other service adjustments

OC Transpo monitors ridership on all routes  to ensure that scheduled trips continue to meet customer needs, and at the same time are financially sustainable. The following changes come in to effect on April:

  • Some late and early trips (usually first and/or last) are cancelled due to very low ridership
8, 12, 86, 87, 98, 114, 124, 262, 681, 691
  • Larger buses are used on key trips and the schedules are adjusted
  • No longer serves Campus Station
  • No longer serves Lees Station before 10 pm; after 10 pm serves Lees Station southbound only
  • After 10 pm (7 days a week, in both directions) buses travel via Laurier and King Edward Avenues between Laurier and Hurdman Stations:
    • Southbound trips do not serve Laurier Station but serve a nearby stop at the corner of Laurier and Cumberland

Rack & Roll is back!

We have more than 450 buses equipped with bike racks so you can take your bike with you when you ride.

Rack & Roll runs from spring until the fall on routes 12, 85, 91, 92, 94, 95, 96, 97, 99, 101, 106 and 118, as well as on several buses on other routes.
