Transit Fares - Effective July 1st, 2012
New fares - effective July 1 - have been approved by the Transit Commission and Council.
Prices have been adjusted in most categories to prepare for the introduction of new PRESTO smart card payments:

PRESTO makes it easy to save!
PRESTO fares are cheaper than tickets or cash - check the fare chart to find the best option for you.
Seniors discount in all time periods
Seniors who pay-per-ride with cash or PRESTO will save on regular-fare routes, any day of the week. This is a big savings compared to adult fares or tickets.
Free fares on Monday and Friday afternoons have been discontinued - but Seniors are still able to ride for free on Wednesdays.
Monthly discounts are also still available for Seniors.
Rural Express premium fares reduced
The premium fare on Rural express routes has been reduced - these routes now fall into the ‘Express’ fare category - see the fare chart.
Age eligibility has changed
Discounts are now available for children aged 6 to 12, and for full-time students aged 13 to 19.
Eligible full-time students at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa can still use the discounted U-Pass, regardless of age, when you get a new U-Pass in September.
Children aged 5 and under continue to ride for free.
The Seniors’ discount age is also unchanged - discounts start at age 65.
Ecopass is ending
Ecopass pricing will change July 1 to match other monthly passes - the current discount will no longer be available. Ecopass users who switch to PRESTO will find the same convenience they enjoyed with Ecopass, such as auto-renewal and remote payment. Plus, with PRESTO there is no need for a photo, you can share your card with another person, and you can choose to switch from monthly payments to pay-per ride any time you wish, saving money in months when you don’t ride every day.
