Passes offer convenience and provide savings. 

Don’t Delay

Passes are valid only from the first day of the month until the last day of the month printed on the pass. Passes are usually available for purchase starting the 20th of the month - so buy your pass early and have it ready for the first of the month!

Photo ID Cards

All OC Transpo pass vouchers must be accompanied by a transit Photo ID card:

  • Adult Photo IDs cost $8.50
  • Student Photo IDs cost $6.25

OC Transpo Photo ID & Pass Voucher

Transit Passes:

Pass validation

When you purchase a pass voucher, you must write your Photo ID Card number on the pass voucher in ink with large, clear print before you can use it on the bus.

Place your ID card in the top half of the plastic wallet and the pass portion in the bottom half so the ID numbers line up.

Write your name and address on the back of your pass to protect it if it's lost or stolen.

Validate your pass!
Don't Forget to validate your pass!

Remember to write your Photo ID Card number on your pass voucher.

If you have not done this, the pass is not valid and you would be subject to a fine.

Adult Transit Pass


NOTE:
The 2012 edition of the adult annual pass is not available. The alternative, until the PRESTO smartcards are introduced mid-year, are paper monthly passes, starting with the January 2012 pass.

DayPass

DayPasses are valid for unlimited travel on regular and express routes, all day long. It must be purchased directly from the driver on the day of travel for $7.50. (exact change only)

Student Transit Pass


To qualify for a Student transit pass, you must be in full-time attendance at primary, secondary, or post-secondary school. Check to see if your post-secondary school is eligible for you to qualify for a student transit pass.

  • Student Semester passes are valid for the following four-month periods: 
        Winter: January 1 - April 30
        Summer: May 1 - August 31
        Fall: September 1 - December 31
  • Semester passes are only available to full-time post-secondary students, and must be accompanied by a current student Photo ID.
  • Students save 15% with a Semester pass compared to buying 4 monthly passes!
  • The Pass Protection Plan protects your Semester pass from loss or theft and the cost is included in the price of your Semester pass.

Student 2011-2012 Annual Pass

The 2011-12 edition of student annual passes has been available for sale to students since August. These passes will be available for sale until December 31 2011 and will be accepted on the bus and O-Train until August 31 2012. Note that the cost of the student annual pass will be pro-rated depending upon when you purchase it.

Senior Transit Pass


NOTE:
The 2012 edition of the senior annual pass is not available. The alternative, until the PRESTO smartcards are introduced mid-year, are paper monthly passes, starting with the January 2012 pass.


Senior Monthly Pass

        $37.00

Full fare on all regular and express routes, and the O-Train.

  • Senior passes are valid on all routes, including Express and Rural Express routes.
  • Senior passes are available to people aged 65 and over.
  • Cash and ticket fares for seniors are not discounted from the standard Adult fare.

Seniors 65 and older can ride free:

  • Wednesdays, all day and
  • Mondays and Fridays, after 12 noon 

This offer includes all bus routes and the O-Train, but does not include Para Transpo. Seniors should be prepared to show proof of age.

Community Transit Pass


The discounted Community Pass reduces the cost of transit for:

  • Ottawa residents who receive benefits under the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).   
  • Registered Para Transpo customers are also entitled to purchase a Community Pass whether or not they receive ODSP benefits. (more info)

NOTE: On Para Transpo trips, Community Pass holders must pay an extra 'top-up' fare with cash or bus tickets. From Monday to Friday during the morning rush hour (6:30 to 8:59 a.m.), you must add $2.65 or 2 bus tickets, and at all other times add $1.65 or 1 bus ticket. Registration Process

   » Community Pass Application Form

To apply for a Community Pass, complete the Community Pass application form.

Bring your completed application form to an OC Transpo Sales and Information Centre with the following documentation or identification:

If you are an ODSP recipient:

  • Completed Community Pass Application Form, including your ODSP member number 
  • Current ODSP document that includes your member number and your name. For example, an ODSP benefit cheque stub, or an ODSP drug or dental card. Photocopies will be accepted. 
  • Valid photo identification, such as an age of majority card, workplace or volunteer ID card, driver's license, or passport.

If you are a registered Para Transpo user:

  • Completed Community Pass Application Form, including your Para Transpo member number
  • Valid photo identification, such as an age of majority card, workplace or volunteer ID card, driver's licence, or passport.

Your OC Transpo Community Photo ID card identifies you as being eligible for the discounted Community Pass. The card has a special code that is meaningful to OC Transpo staff. To everyone else, the ID card and pass look the same as other adult passes.

NOTE: Cost of the OC Transpo Community Photo ID card is $8.50.

You must present your OC Transpo Community Photo ID Card every time you purchase a monthly pass, in order to qualify for the discounted rate. Show your ID card to the sales clerk and ask for the Community Pass. Payment can be made with cash, debit card, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

You can ask someone else to purchase a monthly pass for you. However, they must have your Community Pass photo ID card with them at the time of purchase.

Passes are usually available by the 20th of each month. For example, March passes will be available around February 20. If you purchase your pass early, you can avoid month-end lineups.

Rural Express Riders

If you want to use a Community Pass to travel on rural express routes, call us for additional information at 613-842-3636 extension 2873.

Seniors

If you're aged 65 or older, you may prefer to get a Senior's photo ID card and Senior pass, instead of a Community pass. The senior's pass is more convenient because it is available at hundreds of vendors across the city, and the cost is also discounted.

Child Transit Pass


Monthly passes are not available for children. Children aged 12 or more must pay full adult fare, or they can get a student pass.

Children aged 5 years or less ride free on all OC Transpo services.

Children aged 6 to 11 ride free on the O-Train, but pay child fare on all bus routes.

If your child appears older than 11, we recommend that you obtain an OC Transpo Child Photo ID for them, so that they can take advantage of the reduced cash and ticket fares for children.

The Child Photo ID is free and can be obtained at our OC Transpo Sales and Information Centres.

DayPass

DayPasses are valid for unlimited travel on regular and express routes, all day long. It must be purchased directly from the driver on the day of travel for $7.50. (exact change only)


Family DayPass

On Weekends and statutory holidays, families of up to 6 people can use the DayPass for unlimited travel all day. A family can only include 2 adults. Children must be between the ages of 11 and 6, since 5 and under are free.

The DayPass must be purchased directly from the driver on the day of travel for $7.50. Please be sure to bring the exact amount as the driver cannot make change.
