If your POP transfer is for regular-fare routes, you have to pay a ‘top-up’ fare when you board an express bus:

Overdraft
If your card runs out of money—and if it’s registered—take one last ride in "overdraft." When you reload, pay the 25-cent overdraft fee, plus the cost of the trip.
Get your monthly PRESTO pass early
You can buy next month’s PRESTO pass up to 14 days before the 1st of the month. Allow 24-48 hours before you need to travel.
