Bus Tickets
The Ticket saves you between 5% - 30% over cash!!
Tickets are $1.25 each and also can be bought in '6-paks' for $7.50. They are sold at OC Transpo Sales and Information Centres, the Government Service Centres and also at over 300 vendors.
NOTE: Some Vendors may only sell the tickets in the 'packs of 6'. At the Sales and Information Centres, you can buy any number of tickets.
The only bus tickets that are accepted on the bus as fare are the bright blue ($1.25) and yellow ($1.15) OC Transpo tickets. The $1.15 yellow tickets will continue to be accepted until December 31, 2010. Older tickets can be exchanged for their face value at an OC Transpo Sales Centre toward the purchase of new tickets or a pass. However, they are not redeemable for cash.
Seniors Ride Free on Wednesdays
Riders age 65 or older do not pay a fare on Wednesdays. Please be prepared to show proof of age to the operator.
DayPass
DayPasses are valid for unlimited travel on regular and express routes, all day long. Purchase the DayPass on the bus for $7.50 - exact fare required.
On rural express routes, a top-up of $1.00 or 1 ticket is required.The whole family travels with one DayPass on weekends and statutory holidays
Family DayPass
The DayPass is also the perfect way for families to travel and explore the city! On weekends and statutory holidays, the whole family travels all day with one DayPass. A family can consist of two adults and up to four children (under the age of 12).

Operators do not make change.
The correct fare is shown in the front window of the bus.
O-Train Tickets
O-Train tickets cost $2.75, and are sold at O-Train stations on the platform. O-Train tickets can be exchanged for a transfer when you board a bus. On green express routes, a top-up of one bus ticket or $1.00 is required with your O-Train ticket. On Rural Express routes, top-up is $2.00 or two tickets.
People with Visual Impairment Ride Free
- Registered CNIB customers can use their CNIB one-piece photo ID card as a transit pass.
- Customers with guide dogs can also use their one-piece Attorney-General of Ontario Guide Dog photo ID card as a transit pass.
Both are accepted as full fare on all routes. The area next to “Transit” may say YES or NO — both are valid. The card is not accepted on STO
New Fare Boxes
A new type of fare box has been installed on some buses and has two slots: one for coins only and one for tickets and bills.
Combination of Cash and Tickets
When you pay with a combination of tickets and cash, each ticket is worth its face value.
Old Bus Tickets
The $1.15 yellow tickets will continue to be accepted until December 31, 2010. Use up your supply of yellow tickets by the end of December, or exchange them for their face value at an OC Transpo Sales Centre towards the purchase of the new blue tickets ($1.25) or a pass. However, they are not redeemable for cash.
As of March 1, if you use $1.15 yellow tickets to pay a full ticket fare, there will be no top up - but if you use them in combination with cash, they will be worth their face value of $1.15.
